The Aravis massif is located in the pre-Alps of northern France, it is a limestone chain where snow is really abundant in winter. Our 4-day ski tour will take you from the western end to the east of these mountains at an altitude of approximately 2500m. The stages are about 800 to 1000m per day, but it is possible to adapt the program according to the level of the group, the accommodations are comfortable and allow to rest properly between each stage.
With a view and a spectacular panorama of the entire Mont Blanc Massif, this ski touring trek will take you through the heart of the French Alps, passing through hamlets and authentic Savoyard villages.
The combes of Aravis with the villages of La Clusaz and Grand-Bornand will be on our way for a reblochon refreshment: the local cheese of the stage, if you do not like cheese ski will be your only gourmet meal with incredible descents to alpine valleys or to mountain huts.
The moderate altitude of the peaks of the Aravis (highest point, Pointe Perçée 2752m) and the varied relief (corridors, forests and ridges) make this massif a top ski touring place in the Alps often described as a "little paradise" in topos for skiers.

When ?
Month of February / March. Snow cover is normally enough to descend into valleys in the South and warming stabilizes slopes. It can be done much later or also earlier in the season after a good stabilization of the snowpack.
Level
The effective daily duration of effort (rise plus descent) deducted stops can reach or exceed 6 hours.
The pace of climbing is of the order of 350 m per hour with a break at least every hour. This rhythm is sustained throughout the climb.
Participants must know how to make the specific movements of ski touring without the need for supervisors to provide them with advice.
The guides do not systematically indicate the maneuvers to be performed (installation and removal of snow knives, heaving, etc ...) except when they have an impact on the safety of progression.
On the descent, the guides fix the regrouping points. They draw a route between these two points that each participant adapts to his descending skills except in the passages at risk where the supervisors map the route to follow with precision. The pace of descent is sustained with short recovery breaks during groupings.
The guides protect the progression in the most exposed passages.
In the so-called "Alpine" routes, the basic maneuvers are supposed to be known: roped up and down in easy rock terrain, crampon progression on medium snow slopes and / or short mixed passages
