A bivouac in the snow

A bivouac in the snow

Highlights of the trip

  • A unique experience of snowshoeing in wild landscapes.
  • A night in a bivouac in the middle of nature.
  • A fondue under the stars.

Day 1 : Climb to the bivouac site

D+200m to 500m 1h30 to 2h walk

After the departure briefing, we start our ascent towards our bivouac place. We will evolve between forest and mountain pastures off the trail, in a virgin and preserved environment. Then, the view opens up on the surrounding mountains. It is time to find the ideal place to set up our bivouac. On the program for this afternoon, set up your tent in the snow, make a table in the snow for the meal, enjoy the evening colors while making the aperitif, share a good meal and enjoy the show that nature offers us.

Night in a tent under the stars.

Day 2 : Return

D-200 to 500m 1h30 to 2h walk

After a good night in your cold sleeping bags, you will be the first to watch the sun rise over Mont Blanc! What a privilege! After breakfast, you will have to set up camp in order to get back to the start of the day before with a head full of beautiful memories.

Level required for this outing: Intermediate (See the article on snowshoe levels for self-assessment)
