The base of mountaineering

The base of mountaineering

Do you dream of one day exploring breathtaking alpine landscapes off the beaten track? The SAFETY ACADEMY's basic mountaineering course is the perfect way to get started. The aim of this course is to teach you the basic climbing and movement techniques you'll need to venture into the mountains. After gaining a good understanding of mountain hazards, you'll learn how to anticipate potential risks and react effectively. We focus in particular on the choice of equipment and safety aspects, as well as the knots that are useful for mastering the most diverse situations. We'll help you to become more at ease on difficult terrain, so that eventually you'll be able to get around the mountains on your own. Travelling in unmarked terrain and crossing névés are other important aspects of our training. You'll discover the basics of cliff climbing and learn to negotiate easy sections wearing hiking boots. Finally, the content is rounded off by instruction in belay techniques for difficult cliff passages. The SAFETY ACADEMY courses are the ideal training before embarking on independent alpine outings, so that hiking on cabled paths is no longer a problem.
