The Meije Queen of the Oisans
La Meije is a long and great race of the Massif de l'Oisans. It is advisable to be in great physical shape to afford the summit and the crossing of the ridges leading to the refuge of the Eagle. It is advisable to respect the schedule and the conditions, because in case of storm it is the most beautiful lightning rod of the valley!
Day 1: Meeting at La Grave (or carpool to the meeting point), from there we take the cable car of the valleys of the meije to begin the ascencion towards the Enfetchores, then the breche Meije 3357m , we descend down south to reach the Refuge Promontoire (3092m) and spend the night.
Day 2: Morning wake up before dawn to climb the toad corridor, then the Duhamel corridor, the Castelnau wall and finally the Glacier Square leads us to the foot of the Grand Pic de la Meije. (3983m)
The race is not over because we still have to cross the ridges to the Finger of God, a beautiful alpine course of aerial and mixed ridge that will lead us to the refuge of the Eagle.
Day 3: Descent from Refuge de l'Aigle to La Grave.
