Snowshoeing aperitif at sunset : La Clusaz

Rendez-vous two hours before sunset at Fry Cross Pass. We'll leave on snowshoes off-trail through mountain pastures and clearings to share an aperitif in the middle of nature. The sun declines on La Tournette, the Aravis are tinted with a pinkish color. It's time to enjoy the aperitif with good "local" products. The return will take place at dusk by the glow of our foreheads.

The aperitif in the snow

Tour on the Plateau des Follières

Departure time: 2 hours before sunset

After an hour to an hour and a half of walking in a wild and preserved environment, we will reach our aperitif place. We are alone in the middle of the mountain pastures. The summits are coloured. It is time to share a glass of wine and a piece of reblochon to give us strength. The return will be in the moonlight or in the glow of our foreheads, depending on the season.

Road access:

- By car only for the Col de la Croix Fry (45 min from Annecy / 15 min from La Clusaz / 15 min from Manigod)

- Via the Aravibus shuttle network (Line 8 from La Clusaz / Line M from Thônes)

The price include

Supervision by a qualified mountain guide.
The loan of snowshoes, poles, a headlamp for the night walk.
The aperitif consists of a drink of your choice, a tasting of local cheese, sausage and bread.

The price does not include

Transportation to the starting point of the hike.
Anything not indicated in the "price includes" section.

Schedule and meeting place

Meet at the base of the cross-country ski trails, 2 hours before sunset. Return approximately one hour after sunset.

ACCESS
- via the Aravibus shuttle network (Line 8 from La Clusaz / Line M from Thônes)
- by car with snow tires (and snow chains in snowy conditions).

Approximate times:
In December: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
In January: 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM
In February: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
In March: 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Participant’s personal equipment

Warm, high and waterproof hiking or snow shoes (no Moon Boot or low-top sneakers!!!) suitable for snowshoeing, warm, breathable clothing adapted to the weather (fleece, down jacket, windproof and waterproof jacket, gloves or mittens, hat), backpack for picnics or snacks, water (1L for half days to 2L for full days), sunscreen, cap, sunglasses (mask in strong wind)

Do not hesitate to contact us for an equipment advice

For safety reasons, people who do not have the right equipment on the day of the outing may be refused by the mountain leader and the outing will not be refunded

Group

COLLECTIVE OUTING: Confirmed outings only from 5 people booked / niche. Groups can be formed up to a maximum of 10 participants / 1 mountain leader.
