The Annecy, Bornes and Aravis region offers the ideal setting for a progressive sport climbing course aimed at teenagers aged 16 to 18. Over the course of five days, participants will climb on cliffs, at climbing walls and on multi-pitch routes, learn to take responsibility within a rope team and improve their technical skills on the rock, whatever their starting level. The minibus journey is included in the price, with participants meeting every morning at 8.30 am at the Petit-Port car park in Annecy-Le-Vieux and returning in the late afternoon at around 5 pm, depending on conditions and how tired the group is.

Climbing course for teenagers aged 16 to 18 in Annecy

Meeting time and place : In the morning 8:30 am, Petit-Port car park in Annecy-Le-Vieux (https://goo.gl/maps/dKkXnxpD56TJAu58A?coh=178573&entry=tt) / In the late afternoon, return around 5 pm depending on weather conditions and participants' fatigue.

Day 1: Meeting at 8:30 am at the Petit Port car park in Annecy-Le Vieux. Return around 5pm to the Petit Port car park.
Climbing school in the Annecy area (Grande Jeanne, Puisots, Semnoz) for an evaluation of the level and a refresher course on safety and belaying techniques.

Day 2: Meeting at 8:30 am at the Petit Port car park in Annecy-Le Vieux. Return around 5pm to the Petit Port car park.
Introduction to the small "Grande Voie", use of abseiling techniques, tyrolean traverse, lead and second belay, progression in roped parties of 2 or 3. 

Day 3: Meeting at 8:30 am at the Petit Port car park in Annecy-Le Vieux. Return around 5pm to the Petit Port car park.
We'll do an easy route in the Aravis Massif to refine our rope handling skills, a route that everyone will be able to do as a lead climber.

Day 4: Meeting at 8.30am at the Petit Port car park in Annecy-Le Vieux. Return around 5pm to the Petit Port car park.
School climbing session to improve your climbing skills, via ferrata or via cordata option available depending on conditions.

Day 5 : Meeting at 8.30am at the Petit Port car park in Annecy-Le Vieux. Return around 5pm to the Petit Port car park.
Big alpine route in the Aravis or Bornes Massif to finish the week.

Good to know about the training

The price includes
Supervision by 1 U.I.A.G.M. mountain guide or climbing instructor.
Transport provided throughout the course by minibus. Departure and return from the Petit-Port car park in Annecy-Le-Vieux (July and August courses only)
Loan of harness, helmet, climbing shoes and safety equipment if necessary.
Collective equipment for the practice of climbing

This course is not suitable for people with reduced mobility
PARTICIPANT'S PERSONAL EQUIPMENT
Sportswear for climbing: trousers in the backpack, shorts on warm days, t-shirt, sweater or fleece, windproof parka or rain jacket.
Sunglasses.
Sun cream.
Water bottle, minimum 1l, 2l recommended.
Cap or sun protection.
Good shoes for walking on a mountain path, soles with crampons, no smooth soles.
Possibly crocs for the foot of the routes.
Lunchtime snack, or something to nibble on such as a cereal bar or fruit paste.
Meeting point and times
We meet every morning at 8.30 am in the Petit-Port car park in Annecy-Le-Vieux.
We return in the late afternoon at around 5 pm, depending on the weather conditions and how tired the participants are.
Transport by minibus to the various activity sites is included in the course fee.
Technical equipment
The hire package includes a harness, helmet, lanyard, carabiner, rope and climbing shoes.
Important
At any time, the guide reserves the right to modify or interrupt the programme due to weather conditions, insufficient technical or physical level of the participants, or for safety reasons. In this case, no refund will be made.
