In the massif of Bornes-Aravis, we count 7 lakes: the lake of tardevant, the lake of lessy, the lake of the Mont-Charvin the lake benit, the lake of the late field, the lake of peyre, the lake of the confins.
All are of natural origin.
Some of them shelter protected species such as the alpine newt, others are at the origin of torrents which will become rivers.
