It is not easy to start in ski touring: discover the ski touring equipment, the seals, the knives, the Vibram shoes with insert. To apprehend an unknown natural environment, to know the tricks and small techniques of this practice, and in particular the famous "conversion" or the walk with bindings of ski touring skis on the feet, telescopic poles and a backpack. The high-mountain guides from the guides office offer you the chance to discover ski touring or gentle mountain skiing, through this introductory half-day (9 am to 1 pm), far from the ski area. Our secret garden of Aravis has a dozen peaks of around 2000 meters in altitude which have the double advantage of being accessible to all (from beginners, to confirmed to expert), while being in the heart of an alpine massif, between forests and alpine chalets, something to delight lovers of nature, but also thrills that will descend beautiful slopes. Among these unmarked routes, perhaps you have already heard of the Sulens mountain, the Col de l'Aulp in Manigod, the Col de Tulle in Serraval, the Porte des Aravis in La Clusaz or the Aiguille Green from Chinaillon to Grand-Bornand (a magnificent village resort), the view over the valleys and the Mont-Blanc Massif so close is spectacular, you can't even see the glaciers. The main objective of this initiation is to take the time to discover the activity, without pressure, in complete safety. Mountain guides are very good teachers to introduce you to and will make your outing friendly, far from the beaten track. For this a little basic training in avalanche research is carried out in the company of your guide (use of the victim detector, the shovel, and the probe)
If you have already practiced ski touring, and your objective is to to improve yourself, to achieve a longer or more technical ascent, we invite you to discover our improvement in ski touring or private engagement. If you want to go even further, you will have to go ski mountaineering or a raid but that is another adventure.
Level required for this outing: Level 1 - BEGINNER. Doubt about your level in ski touring or off-piste? Consult our page for all the information detailed by the guides of the office.
