Departure at the first gondola of the Skyway Monte Bianco (6:15 a.m.) to reach the summit of Pointe Helbronner about 3462 m, from this point we walk on the glacier (crampons and roping mandatory) to reach the foot of the difficulties from where starts the routes (1 hour of walking in good condition).
At the foot of the route we leave the shoes and the mountaineering equipment to put on the climbing shoes, the route takes place over 8 lengths of difficulty 4 b to 5 c, the summit rises to around 3,600 m, it is a pointed top where there is not much space !
It takes 5 to 6 hours of climbing on average, including rappel, to regain the rimaye of the glacier.
Climbing requires a little experience in trad climbing, but also in fissures, without ever being sustained and steep, it is a beautiful route in the high mountains where you have to be in shape or acclimatized.
It is imperative to be autonomous for the rappel from the summit even if all the relays are equipped.
Return in around 1 hour 30 minutes to the top of the Skyway cable car to descend into the Courmayeur valley where a good pizza awaits us!
