Day 1: North half-tour of Arcalod
D+1220m D-600m Dist 12.6km 6h00 walking time
A cool start from the typical hamlet of Précherel. Our ascent takes us through a forested valley between Mont Trélod and Arcalod. Arriving at the Col de Chérel, the hike becomes more technical on steeper paths with magnificent panoramas. One last effort and we're at the Col d'Orgeval. The view of Mont Pécloz is splendid, and the refuge is not far off.
Night in refuge (dormitory).
Day 2: Arcalod South Half-Tour
D+485m D-1120m Dist 11.6km 5h walk
We take advantage of the refuge's terrace to have breakfast in a calm atmosphere facing Mont Pécloz. Today we'll be passing the foot of the Pointe d'Arcalod, the highest peak in the Bauges massif. We continue towards Mont de la Coche and switch to the Précherel side via Plan Molard and Plan de la Limace. Return to the starting point via the croix d'allant.
