Via ferrate in les Dolomites autour de Cortina

Via ferrate in les Dolomites autour de Cortina

The Dolomites are unique in the world, and the relief, rock and landscapes are among the most beautiful on our planet. Sharp peaks, sheer cliffs and oceans of stone with resinous forests are the backdrop to our Via Ferrate holiday, which also has a historical and cultural dimension, as these cableways were created in the mid-19th century to make the mountains accessible to tourists! They really took off during the war between Italy and Austria between 1915 and 1918, with the military digging tunnels and developing these via ferrate to get around the steep, hostile terrain. For us, it's a different story, as the aim is to do beautiful routes with magical panoramas, and between each stage we stay in an Italian refuge where the atmosphere is as warm and friendly as ever!
