Level required
This course is aimed at people who are physically fit and enjoy walking in the mountains. You must be able to cover an elevation gain of around 400 to 600 metres in a day, which equates to 3 to 5 hours of walking at a steady pace.

Mountain experience

No mountaineering experience is required.
Regular mountain hiking (on trails with elevation gain) is recommended.
Some initial experience on snow (snowshoeing, ski touring or walking on firn) is an advantage, but is not essential.

Recommended physical preparation

To get the most out of the course:

Cardio: 1 to 2 sessions per week (brisk walking, jogging, cycling) lasting 45 minutes to 1 hour
Endurance: focus on continuous exercise at a moderate pace
Elevation gain: hikes with 300 to 600 m of elevation gain
Strength training: leg work (thighs, calves) and core exercises

Altitude acclimatisation

Even though the exertion remains moderate, the altitude (over 3,000 m) requires proper acclimatisation:
Ensure you are well-rested in the days leading up to the trip
Stay well-hydrated throughout the trip
Maintain a **slow and steady pace**
Listen to your body

An accessible level for a first mountaineering experience, with no technical requirements but requiring a good hiking foundation.
Important
If bad weather is forecast prior to departure, your guide will suggest postponing your climb until later in the summer or the following summer, subject to mountain hut availability.

As a mountain professional, the guide reserves the right to adapt, modify or shorten the route depending on weather conditions and/or the ability of one or more participants. In this case, no refund will be given.

Any additional day of guiding added to the originally proposed programme will be charged at €500 per day (excluding accommodation, meals and transport costs).
