Highlights of the stay

  • An evening to observe the sky with Philippe Jacquot, passionate astrophotographer.
  • A night in a typical mountain refuge.
  • A spectacular view of the Alps.
  • A hike in a "lunar" atmosphere

Day 1 : Climb to the refuge from the Bois-Brûlé

Up 730m Down 80m 2h45 of walking

The beginning of the adventure will start at the foot of Parmelan in the early afternoon. Our ascent to the refuge will be done via the small or the big mountain depending on the level and the desires of the participants. After about 2h30 of effort, we will be rewarded with one of the most beautiful 360° views on the Alps and the Jura. After having taken the aperitif at sunset, it's time to go back to the refuge to share the meal prepared by Philippe's team, the refuge keeper. Once the night has fallen, the sky observation session (about 2h45) can begin.

Night in the refuge (dormitory). Attention no shower and no water in the refuge.

Day 2 : Return via the Lapiaz of the Parmelan plateau

Up 80m Down 740m 3h of walking
The next day, weather permitting, breakfast can be taken on the terrace facing the Mont-Blanc! The return trip will be done on the lapiaz of the Parmelan plateau.

The walking times are calculated from an average speed defined in the sheet of difficulty levels of the hikes. They are indicative times and do not include breaks. The itinerary may be slightly modified for safety reasons (weather, level of participants) or for organizational reasons by the mountain leader in charge of the group.
Astronomical observation is subject to the weather conditions of the moment. A session with video projection will be organized inside the refuge in case of bad conditions.
The stay is subject to the availability of the refuge and the number of places for the astronomical observation session.
