We offer you a unique mountain experience in the middle of winter. Our adventure will take place in the massif des Bornes with the objective of the Parmelan refuge perched at 1800m. The itinerary will start in the middle of the forest above Aviernoz. After the Anglettaz mountain pasture we will continue our ascent via the summer path that we will have to guess in this white and uniform immensity. Luckily your mountain guide knows the area well and will guide you safely to the refuge. The view is gradually opening up on the Aravis mountain range, the Mont-Blanc and finally on Lake Annecy at the summit. It is Philippe, the janitor, who will welcome us at the refuge which is specially opened for us. With the arrival of dusk, the mountains are getting colored, it's time to take beautiful pictures. Then it will be time to get into the kitchen to prepare the evening meal. After a good night's sleep in our comforters, we will take the way back via the cave of hell.

Night in a rustic mountain refuge in the middle of winter

Highlights of the stay

A unique experience of snowshoeing in wild landscapes.
One night in a mountain hut opened especially for us.

Day 1: Ascent to the hut by l'Anglettaz & Snow shelter workshop

Up 840m Down 80m 4h30 walking

Meeting at 9:30 am in Villaz. Briefing and verification of equipment. Then short carpool to reach the start of the itinerary. We will go up to the hut via the Anglettaz. At the end of the afternoon, we will go to the shelter to help prepare the evening meal.

Day 2: Descent via the cave of hell

Up 200m Down 950m 5h walking

After breakfast, it is time to put the snowshoes back on. We leave the refuge to reach our starting point via the cave of hell.

The price includes

Supervision by a state-qualified mountain leader.
The loan of snowshoes and poles.
Accommodation in a refuge with half board (evening meal and breakfast).

Number of participants

COLLECTIVE OUTING: Confirmed outings only from 6 people booked / niche. Groups can be formed up to a maximum of 10 participants / 1 mountain leader.

The scheduled dates correspond to group outings. Subject to availability, the activity can be organized at another time in the winter as a private engagement. Please contact us for a personalized quote.
