A fun climbing course for children aged 5 to 7
Climbing is an ideal activity for young children: it allows them to approach vertical surfaces with enjoyment, whilst developing motor skills, balance, self-confidence and trust in others. This course is suitable for both beginners and those with some prior experience, and takes place in small groups of 4 to 6 children to ensure progress tailored to each child’s needs.
What the children learn during the course
Over the course of these three half-days, the young climbers will discover the basics of climbing: how to put on a harness, wear a helmet, tie a rope knot, perform basic belaying techniques and follow essential safety rules. As the sessions progress, they’ll make headway on the rock face, become more comfortable using the holds and have fun through a variety of age-appropriate workshops.
Fun activities and workshops on the crag
As well as climbing, the children discover a playful approach to the sport through balance games, abseiling, zip lines and pendulum swings. These workshops help them get to know the crag environment whilst having fun, in a friendly and reassuring atmosphere.
